We collect several types of information to provide and improve the UnityFreak platform:
Account Data. When you create an account, we collect your display name, username, email address, and password (stored in hashed form). You may optionally provide additional profile information such as a bio, avatar, location, and social media links.
Usage Data. We automatically collect information about how you interact with the Platform, including pages visited, features used, course progress, search queries, and timestamps of activity. This data helps us understand usage patterns and improve the Platform.
Payment Data. When you make a purchase or subscribe to a plan, payment information is collected and processed by Stripe. We do not store your full credit card number on our servers. We retain transaction records including purchase amounts, dates, and the items or services purchased.
Content Data. We store content you create on the Platform, including course materials, forum posts, comments, project descriptions, articles, chat messages, uploaded assets, and streaming metadata.
Device & Technical Data. We collect your IP address, browser type and version, operating system, device type, and referring URLs when you access the Platform.
We use the information we collect to:
Automated Decision-Making. We use algorithms to recommend courses, match freelancers with job listings, rank content in your feed, and detect potentially fraudulent activity. These systems process your usage data, skills, and preferences to provide personalised experiences. No fully automated decisions with significant legal effects are made without human review. We do not sell your personal information. We may share information in the following circumstances:
Stripe. Payment information is shared with Stripe to process transactions. Stripe's use of your information is governed by their own privacy policy.
Analytics Providers. We use analytics services to help us understand Platform usage. These providers may collect information about your use of the Platform through cookies and similar technologies.
Legal Requirements. We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, in response to a valid legal request (such as a court order or subpoena), or to protect the rights, property, or safety of UnityFreak, our users, or the public.
Business Transfers. If UnityFreak is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change.
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with services. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal, accounting, or regulatory purposes.
Certain content you have shared publicly (such as forum posts or comments) may remain on the Platform in anonymised form after account deletion, as removing it may affect the experience of other users.

UnityFreak requires users to be at least 16 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. Users aged 16–17 are considered minors and receive enhanced privacy protections in accordance with the UK ICO Age Appropriate Design Code (Children's Code):

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than the country in which you reside. These countries may have data protection laws that differ from those in your country. By using the Platform, you consent to the transfer of your information to these countries. We take appropriate safeguards to ensure that your personal information remains protected in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
We implement appropriate technical and organisational security measures to protect your personal information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include encryption of data in transit and at rest, regular security audits, and access controls. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

In the event of a personal data breach, UnityFreak will notify the relevant supervisory authority within 72 hours of becoming aware of the breach, as required by GDPR Article 33, unless the breach is unlikely to result in a risk to your rights and freedoms.
If a breach is likely to result in a high risk to your rights and freedoms, we will notify affected users without undue delay, as required by GDPR Article 34. Our notification will include the nature of the breach, the categories and approximate number of individuals affected, the likely consequences, and the measures taken or proposed to address the breach.
