UnityFreak is an online platform for learning, building, and connecting. You can take courses, share what you create, join communities, and work with other developers.

This privacy notice is written specifically for users aged 16 and 17. It explains what information we collect about you, why we collect it, and what you can do about it. We've kept it simple and straightforward.

2. What Information We Collect

Here is what we know about you when you use UnityFreak:

Account Info

When you sign up, we ask for your email address, a username, and your date of birth. Your date of birth helps us make sure you get the right privacy protections.

What You Create

If you make courses, write posts, or leave comments, we store that content so it can appear on the platform. You control what you publish.

How You Use the Platform

We keep basic records of how you interact with the platform, like which pages you visit and when you log in. This helps us keep the platform running smoothly and spot problems.

3. Why We Collect It

We only collect your information for three reasons:

• To run the platform. We need your email to create your account and your username to identify you. Without this, the platform simply would not work.
• To keep it safe. We use some information to prevent abuse, block spam, and protect you from harmful content or behaviour.
• To improve it. Understanding how people use the platform helps us fix bugs and make things better. We never use your personal details for this — only general patterns.

4. Who Sees Your Data

Very few people can see your information:

• You — you can always see and manage your own data.
• People you connect with — your profile is private by default. Only users you choose to connect with can see your profile details.
• Stripe — if you make a purchase, our payment provider Stripe handles the payment. They only see what they need to process the transaction.
• No one else. We do not sell, rent, or give away your data to anyone.

5. Your Privacy Defaults

Because you are under 18, we automatically set stricter privacy settings for your account:

• Profile is private. Other users cannot find you through search unless you connect with them first.
• Connections-only messaging. Only people you have accepted as connections can send you direct messages.
• No marketing emails. We will not send you promotional emails. You only receive important account notifications.
• No analytics tracking. We do not use analytics cookies on your account unless you specifically choose to enable them.

You can change some of these settings in your account, but we think the defaults are the safest option.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• See your data. You can view all the information we hold about you in your account settings.
• Download it. You can request a copy of all your data in a portable format.
• Delete your account. You can delete your account at any time. When you do, we remove your personal data.
• Change your mind. If you gave us permission for something (like optional cookies), you can take that permission back at any time.

These rights are free to use and we will never penalise you for exercising them.

7. Parental Consent

Because you are under 18, your parent or guardian must verify your account before you can use all features of the platform. This is to make sure a trusted adult knows you are using UnityFreak.
